What was it about?
Churches in rural areas face significant challenges and many are finding it hard to think positively about the future. This day conference on Friday 15th May at Haveringland Parish Church will explore the realities of rural parish life, and provide some inspiration to take away with you.
There were keynote talks from Bishop Jane Steen (Bishop of Lynn) and Nigel Walter (Archangel Architects - Cambridge). We had panel discussions on church buildings, community connections, transforming governance structures & mission in rural churches. We also had friends from the National Lottery Heritage Fund and lots of other partners.
Who was it for?
The conference was offered for anyone with an involvement or interest in rural churches; particularly lay and ordained church leaders, PCC members, clergy and Diocesan officers.
Where was it?
The venue for the conference was the amazing
Haveringland Parish Church & Community Hub.
The conference marked the end of a momentous £500,000 project which has seen the remote and dilapidated church building transformed into a well-appointed facility which serves its community in fresh ways.
